Classic hotel guest room: a made double bed with a sage-green throw, a tufted cream sofa with red cushions, tall teal drapes and warm lamplight

Wedding room blocks, without emailing ten hotels

Tell us your guest count and dates. We'll tell you how many rooms to ask for, how many free rooms to ask for with them, and what to ask each hotel.

Step 1 of 3

Where's the wedding?

How hotel room blocks actually work

The terms hotels use, and what's normal versus what's worth negotiating.

Block minimumMost hotels want ~10 rooms to open a formal block. Below that, ask for a discount code instead (see the calculator above).
Group discount10–20% off the hotel's best available rate is standard. If you're being quoted full rate, ask again.
PickupOnly 60–70% of invited out-of-town guests typically book inside the block. Request rooms for that range, not your full guest count.

How it works

1

Tell us your numbers

Venue or city, dates, out-of-town guest count.

2

See how many rooms to ask for

The rooms to request, and the free rooms to ask for with them, from your guest count.

3

Ask each hotel the same questions

Rate, cut-off, free rooms and attrition, from the table above, so the answers line up.

4

Book directly with the hotel

We never touch your payment. You book straight with their reservations desk.
